Why drives you to purchase art? If you had a choice between a lovely car, house, piece of jewelry or art which would you choose and why?

There could be no contest; art wins hands down.  While there is “art” in countless things, when I use the term, I refer to paintings and sculpture.  I have three criteria for the purchase of art:

(1) If I could replicate it, I don’t want it
(which eliminates all of Picasso);

(2) If I can’t understand it and its message, I don’t want it
(which eliminates all of Picasso); and

(3) If I don’t want to look at it, every hour of every day, as long as I live, I don’t want it
(which eliminates all of Picasso).
